about

A Life In The Day is an album of Piano instrumentals that in some ways follows on from my previous album ‘Mindfulness’ of relaxing piano pieces. Mindfulness was an album that used a method of improvising to create a mood or emotion. This new album does contain some tracks that are composed this way, specifically the aptly titled ‘Free Flow’, as well as ‘Longing’ and ‘Two Notes’: The later using just two notes as the theme. The majority of the tunes, however, have been composed over a lifetime. The Melodies for ‘The Creation Suite’ for example, were composed in the 1980s. The nine parts for this suite were originally created as a live arrangement using piano and Keyboards. To record an updated arrangement of that version could be a future project. I hope you enjoy the fifty minutes of listening; it took a lifetime to create!

about

Peter D. Firth Bolton, UK

Peter D. Firth has been coming up with tunes for the piano, since he could bash away on the family upright from a young age. Further realising the rock ‘n’ roll potential after seeing an old film of Jerry Lee Lewis on TV and later at the cinema watching Richard Wright playing the piano with his elbow in Pink Floyd’s ‘Live from Pompeii’.
